I was happy to visit another Calatrava extravaganza. Like the Lisbon Oriente Station, being inside the LYS Airport Railway Station had a carnal, skeletal quality that is undeniably his style.
I felt like at every corner I turned, there was some wonderful surprise in detail to be found. I especially enjoyed going from the main atrium and into the side outdoor hallways which provided access to the train platforms.
Its so strange how his work feels so prehistoric and yet also so futuristic at the same time… never quite fitting into the present.
