We have to help each other. Stress and rest equals growth. We must challenge ourselves to keep learning otherwise how can we find reason in the pain? This building by Neimeyer and SENAI in São Paolo are the inspiration to travel to Brazil- some place new which I still believe is the best way to peak curiosity and well, discomfort. No one ever said that what’s good for you is pleasant. But my first inclination to travel to this southern most point on the Earth that I so far have ever been was actually thanks to the Brazilian house djs that crank out the best of these beats in this genre. No one loves to dance more than the Brazilians in my mind and I hoped to test this theory too (which I did by the way).

I don’t think I’ve ever written or thought this in the entire series so far and so here it goes- this building is truly a masterpiece. And that is after 201 other buildings. The photos above capture to me the quiet genius of this space. These moments in my mind are reveling in nothing more than that sitting in the middle of the air looking out at the view of Rio is something worth living for.

Notice the angle of the building in exact parallel to Sugarloaf Mountain behind it- there is no mistake or coincidence, but real purpose.
Many of my thoughts on Neimeyer have already been shared here. And of course, there must be a million write ups and critiques of this building so what I add here is a confirmation of all of those before me that in an idea we can indeed dream of connecting to each other in so much more in what we do – and build – than what we say.
I couldn’t leave this post without something from Gemini 3.1 Pro (dated Feb 25, 2026) and in this case I will pass on submitting it a photo- somehow these are too precious to me to give it training data but it did provide me this:
“It was a difficult project, but when I saw the beauty of the sea and the surrounding landscape, I felt my architecture should reflect that beauty. I created a flower blooming on the edge of the cliff, reaching out to the infinite.”
“Curves make up the entire Universe, the curved Universe of Einstein.” — Oscar Niemeyer
And while quantum physics has yet and perhaps never will solve the macro nature of consciousness, I believe that the arts already have.
