Metamorphosis. “…more meaningful does not typically mean more pleasant.”
Heading into the year of the snake, which I recently heard was all about shedding skin and changing, I didn’t even know I had to search for meaning but did I ever and boy has it been ever unpleasant. But as Steven Kotler in The Art of Impossible: A Peak Performance Primer put it best: “the only thing more difficult than the emotional toil of pursuing true excellence is the emotional toil of not pursuing excellence.”
Seeking out these places was not easy- they required determination and courage. I feel much pride in these as they represent more than anything, the effort I put into continuing to survive this process of rapid transformation.
