Paris: Le Maison Cartier

Image. Color. Scent. Service. Story. Just a few of the carefully curated characteristics that make a brand. Le Maison Cartier celebrated it’s 100th anniversary with a remodel of this flagship store. In hindsight, I realize how lucky we were that we took an opening time appointment as that afforded a tour of the place without anyone else in the client spaces.

Each room, beautifully organized- rich in material and texture, yet refined and consistent in the tone of their color palette. All of this to provide the best possible backdrop to the real center of attention- their jeweled creations.

The navy was my favorite- but I am partial to this color these days.

With so much trending endlessly in the modern day of the internet, it’s wonderful to see that a place like this will likely work to stay almost entirely the same. Rare opportunities indeed.

P.S. Almost forgot my postscript. Within walking distance, we had one of our best meals (it was gluten free- so rare to find it in Asian cuisine) at a tiny Japanese restaurant called Cococo on a wonderful alley filled with similarly small cafes (another one I wanted to try was La Guinguette d’Angèle). To be noted as astoundingly delicious gluten free meals: le Grand Restaurant and Edith Restaurant (in particular, try TheFork to get some great promotions when reserving through their app.)
