Always crunched for time- we barely made it to the Christian Dior exhibit the last time and this time I barely made it to the (massive) remainder of the V&A because I somehow go the closing times wrong. I had always wanted to return to see sculpture courtyard and was spurred on by a new friend I made a couple weeks ago during my adventure at Fabric. On our sunrise walk around London, seemingly with a lot of time ironically- he mentioned that his favorite place in London was the V&A museum. I do take calls from the universe more and more now.
This entrance I went into this time – the richness of the materials used were so tangible, so organic and original, as in of the origin. It’s not a political or religious view of origin, but one of natural forces where both creation and destruction occurs. It certainly is a reflection also of the nature of humans- to create and destroy- sometimes at great cost to others.
It’s no wonder London is my favorite city- it’s all there in the data. I don’t think I’ve written about the architecture in any other city as much as I have in London.
I didn’t really get a sense of the narrative of the work inside of this building I was so rushed, but it was lovely to see a wide range of cultures represented and showcased.
This building had an abundance of balconies which makes for excellent people watching- including over the sculpture courtyard.
This is one of those places that should have a dress attire, as if part of a scene that demanded others in it’s presence must reach it’s high standard. I felt so beautiful being in that scene and perhaps if better dressed, would turn into something of a scene myself.
The next time I visit, I really need to dedicate some more time- spending more time doing less. The V&A is beautifully maintained and I would * almost * agree with my English friend that it’s my favorite building too.
